Hard seasons can come quietly or suddenly. A veteran may face a difficult medical appointment, a painful memory, a financial burden, a family concern, or a season of loneliness. An active-duty service member may face pressure, distance from home, uncertainty, or responsibility that feels heavy.
Hard seasons do not mean God is absent
When life feels heavy, it can be easy to wonder if God is far away. Scripture reminds us that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and attentive to the cries of His people. A hard season may be painful, but it is not hidden from God.
Veterans, active-duty service members, families, and caregivers can bring honest prayers to the Lord. Prayer does not have to be polished. It can begin with the simple words, “Lord, help me.”
Pray for strength and wisdom
Hard seasons often require decisions. A person may need wisdom for family matters, health concerns, work, finances, caregiving, or spiritual direction. Prayer asks God for strength to keep going and wisdom to take the next faithful step.
The Daily Devotional page can help provide a daily Scripture-based reminder for those who need encouragement one day at a time.
Pray for families and caregivers too
When one person is in a hard season, the burden often touches the whole family. Spouses, parents, children, friends, and caregivers may also need prayer. They may be tired, worried, or unsure how to help.
Christian Veterans Fellowship encourages people to remember not only veterans and service members, but also those who stand beside them in love, prayer, and service.
Ask others to pray with you
No one has to carry a hard season alone. You can submit a prayer request for yourself or someone you love. You do not need to share private details. A simple request for strength, peace, wisdom, salvation, or encouragement is enough.
The Prayer & Encouragement page also offers reminders for heavy days and ways to pray for veterans, active-duty service members, families, and caregivers.
Hope remains in Jesus Christ
A hard season may not end immediately, but Christ remains faithful. He gives mercy for sin, grace for weakness, peace for troubled hearts, and hope for the road ahead. Look to Him, seek a Bible-centered church, and take one faithful step today.
